Nintendo shared ‘roughly’ 40 minutes of information about games coming to Switch this winter.
It’s been a busy year for Nintendo — it released one of the best games of the year and a sequel to Breath of the Wild — but based on Thursday’s Nintendo Direct that just wrapped up, the company isn’t slowing down.
Nintendo promised that the September Direct would feature “roughly 40 minutes of information” about Nintendo Switch games coming “this winter,” and while I’d argue Nintendo pushed the definition of the timeframe of “winter,” I think the show more than delivered:
- F-Zero is back as a 99-player battle royale, and it will be available on Thursday.
- Mario and Donkey Kong is getting remade for Switch, and that will be available in February.
- The new Peach game got a name, and it’s launching in March.
- We got another look at Splatoon 3’s stylish single-player expansion, coming in spring 2024.
- One of Nintendo’s best games ever, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, is also being remade for Switch, and that game will be released in 2024.
Here’s all of our coverage of the September 2023 Nintendo Direct.
